“Processed food : Good or Bad?”

“Processed food : Good or Bad?”

Talking about processed food, there are a lot of aspects to be considered about although it has a bad reputation for people to put the blame on it regarding obesity rates, causing people to grow high blood pressure and whatsoever.

On the first hand, processed food can be defined as a food that has been converted from its natural state in some ways, to fulfill safety requirements or out of convenience. In fact, we should say not all processed foods are unhealthy but only those that contain high amounts of added sugar, salt and also fats.

The positive side of a processed food that comes in handy is it helps us to maintain our focus on eating more nutritional- oriented foods.

Let’s say for instance, milk & juices sometimes are fortified with Calcium and Vitamin D. Likewise, breakfast cereals are produced with added carbohydrates and fiber.

Hence, if you are looking for a decrease in consuming processed foods, you should then begin to prepare more prep-meals at home. However, there is one thing that you really should be aware of are some foods that contain high amounts of added sugar and salt (sodium).

Taking too much added sugar leads to increasing the risk of getting heart disease and also tooth decay. It happens because it allows bacteria to multiply and grow during the process. Taking too much salt would increase blood pressure by holding excess fluids in the body to induce burdens to your heart. It also increases stroke, stomach cancer and kidney failure.
